Well, I dare say many of us have watched the movie Despicable Me 2, haven't we? And yes the show starring Gru, a villain who once dreamt of taking over the world with his evil schemes, has now turned goody goody by hoping ship, trying instead to save the world from his evil compatriots. Simple as that? NO! Ask any of your friends and they'll reveal the truth >>> the minions have somehow hypnotized their minds into watching this movie. In fact, they came because of the minions! Many of them don't even know the meaning of Despicable!
With every Happy Meal....
Honestly speaking, the whole movie was a big let down. Don't get mii wrong, the minions are as their usual, cute-selves, injecting some laughter once in a while throughout the screening. But if you watched the movie in a neutral point of view, you would find the movie, plain, too direct, too predictable and compared to the 1st version of Despicable Me, its a total disappointment. Still, the fact that these cute minions have blurred the minds of many doesn't just stop there!
Moment of madness!
All lining up for hours!
Drum rolls ~~~~~~ McDonald's, who else? Seizing the opportunity of the minion invasion, they came out with a very strategical piece of business, Free Minion Toys with every purchase of McDonald's Happy Meal! And there goes the sanity of the human race, invading all stored nationwide just to grab hold of these plastic minions. Ok, I wouldn't blame the children having a role to play in this, but the adults as well?! Doesn't make sense when these full grown-ups suddenly come flooding up stores, some even queuing up since the early mornings for hours just to get a Happy Meal. Poor children who actually wants these toys, many of them going home empty-handed, doesn't seem like a Happy Meal anymore now, would it?
Keep Calm people!
Minions, now even in LOL!!!
To make things worse, now people are even trading the minions! Some are even crying that they weren't able to get them (adults too!). Some quarreling and fighting on the internet for the minions. Some load them up on e-bay and sell them for a price up to RM2k!!! And, to top up the pile of insanity, SOMEONE EVEN BOUGHT IT! Goddammit it's a freaking PLASTIC TOY! Real matured people.....
RM2,010 ?!?!?!?!?!??!!
By all means, this craze would soon die down, and as they say, 'a moment of madness'. Soon they'll look back to this awkwardly, somehow still, something to be remembered. This wouldn't be the last of it though, there will always be something new coming up and the craze would start all over again. Well, they did say the world would end, will it end this way though? The apocalypse of the sane human mind.....
