10 Things To Do Before You Die
Being bored recently, I started to deviated from the norm of the pre-set mind. Don't worry, I'm still too young to die for now. Still, having some time to spare, I managed to get a few friends and relatives to answer this question: What are the 10 things you wanna do before you die?
As expected, many of them gave a same reply of 'I've not thought of this before'. Well now, even myself, I don't think I could picture 10 things in that short period of time. Most of us are, as usual too busy or either already satisfied with living the life we have now. And of course, some others DO have really interesting ideas of their own! Here are a few common plus some special ones...
1. To be a billionaire and own many properties and businesses.
2. To set foot anywhere, anyplace, anytime; travelling like never before.
3. Live like a God (No illness, no pain & won't grow old).
4. Have a nice wife, a big family and to see how their children would look like (The children part's funny, hehe).
5. Own a whole set of Apple gadgets and an exquisite stamp collection.
6. Having starred in a movie with themselves the main character.
7. Spend their whole lot of time with their families.
8. A drive around a lap at Nurburgring circuit, longest track in the world in Germany.
9. To find true love at least for this life-time
10. Confess to the person who you admire for so long, telling him/her that you love them.
11. Food oh food!
12. Die in a hug?!!!! (One of my friend quoted! Seriously? hahahaha)
13. A touching confession of love towards your parents.
14. Sunbathing by the beach for life!
15. Living each day happily and meaningfully.
16. To be an inspiration to others.
17. To snap down pictures of the everyday life.
18. Have an outstanding career!
19. To get a modern day condo with a walk-in wardrobe and swimming pool.
20. Get laid.. (opps!)
Simple thoughts. Simple things. Simple life. Sometimes, you tend to look back at the path you took up to this moment, you'll notice there're many things that meant so much more in life than the ones you're living through now. Not asking one to regret, but then, what would it have been if things were right then, so different? Yeah, no one can change a destined life, but having thoughts like these, they're like setting goals, goals to be achieved before a life crumbles into the claws of the unforgiving time.
Having said that, 10 things to do before I die...
1. Is the world really round?
To that question, like most of us, travel seems to be an appropriate answer for this, given a decent budget that could take us to places. Of course, wild ones would think of places men has never been able to set foot on. Mars maybe?
2. To forgive a person
People do mistakes, inevitable. And you can't really blame them, though some might be of a sinful purpose. But for those accidental mistakes, one can actually afford to forgive them at a certain point of time. For mii before I die, I'll take that chance to forgive a person, forget the past and rejuvenate relationships. Now and then, life as we know it...
3. To make a serious enemy
A saying once quoted, 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer'. We all talk about best friends, true friends, all that stuff. But one can never know when that friend that you think who he/she should be, might betray you one day, leaving you in the darkest corner of life. Hence, instead of making best friends, I would love to make a serious enemy. Competition, arguments, debates, fights, all that. Of course not to the extent of killing each other but yeah, enemies are the ones who will really voice out pure opinions of oneself, hence having an enemy ain't that bad given you'll be challenged to change for the better in life.
4. To fall hard and come right back up again.
Failures they are everywhere. And the most important thing to failures is that they pull you right down hard. But being able to get up after one has fallen could be the biggest success ever! Look at all those billionaires, those successful people. Of which has not tasted defeat you tell mii. Nothing is easy, but overcoming your failures could prove a promising success in time to come.
5. To find true love.
Now who wouldn't want that? Love is everywhere, a little timing, a little spark and a little confidence could get things running. Single life could be easy-going, but nothing beats a great relationship!
6. To make the world smile.
Blogging. Well, to mii, from being just blogging personal stuff as I started off at the beginning, it changed as time passed on. It would be an achievement if my blogs would bring smiles and laughter to the world. Though that's a very long way to go from where I am now, at least I'm trying hard. It would be even better if these articles could actually give hope and change one's life for the good.
7. To taste the flavours of the world.
A food lover like mii could never resist the temptation of delicacies all around the world. Though I think I could never get my body weight to an optimum level, my taste-buds wouldn't forgive mii if i were to reject food being displayed in front of mii. Duh!
8. A poem that would be passed on and remembered
I do love writing poems. And with my self-acclaimed mentor of Shakespeare, I really wished my poems would be passed down, published in every way possible and be known by many. Dreams, oh dreams...
9. Earn 1 million
With the profession I'm in, it really is impossible to earn 1 million worth of quid. Nah really, not even if you become a high ranking person of my career, one can never achieve this feat. So, I'll set it at just 1 million, though many would want more. Hope I'll just kena TOTO 1 million then everything's settled! XD
10. My parents...
On returning to my hometown each year, watching my parents growing older and older each visit makes my heart ache. All those memories as a child, to hold their hands as I grow, and now to watch them entering the golden age of life is unbearable. Sometimes, I really wished time would just stop. While many of us hope to grow up being somebody soon, I really wish it would just stay still. To feel the wrinkles on their skin, to watch strands of hair turning white, I felt useless being unable to do anything. To spend time with them is the only thing I could, and to give back to them of what they fought and strived for mii is all that I could ever repay.
Well, 10 things before I die. There are of course many more in the eyes of others, and one can never doubt each and every of them means so much to that person. No matter how ridiculous some may sound, these are dreams and wishes of people who one has no right to condemn upon. After all, dreams and wishes are only limited by the minds of those who limits them. Now, what are yours then?
Special thx to all my friends who have helped mii through this simple survey. It was fun knowing each and every of your thoughts, thx once again! XD

Tracing Footsteps
A glimpse of memory of the past,
A broken chain a broken trust,
Promised love that just wouldn't last.
Remember those words I said to you,
Of things we knew too good to be true,
'Once upon a time' it meant much more,
But alas you left through that open door.
Looking back at those times we had,
Of those things then we used to share,
Till now just being able to bear a smile,
Deep down though it was all worthwhile.
A fresh breather, a change of heart,
Things came together and fell apart,
I'd cry a river-full of tears and blood,
Of those fairy-tales now nothing but old art.
Should I ever tread on those forgotten steps,
Be it happy ones or be it sad,
A wide smile with an open heart,
My life complete with you once a part.

Mr. Bontot Besaq @ Hasif!
He claimed himself to be handsome in this pic. Sad guy huh?
Well, we all have crazy and annoying friends, and you bet I've got a few then. One of them is this guy, his name is Hasif, his girlfriend is my fellow Uni mate from pharmacy and still he really is 'poyol' wherever he goes. PS: He said he's single and available! OMG!
I could have long hit him in the groin then, really he could be a pain in your ass. By the way, we call him 'bontot besar', Big Arse, seriously, he does have an extraordinary protrusion right at the back. Comfort cushion I thought, or maybe an invitation for a kick up the ass. Haha!
That ass!
But still he's a good person, plays futsal coolly and supports Chelsea like I do. Other than that, he is just another annoying person, hehe! And guess what he's doing by my side now, chanting my blog name 'Life, as we know it' again and again. Even worst, he asked mii to write a blog about him, well Hasif, here you go! haha! Bontot besaq!

A Cover Up For Embarrassment @ PSY's Visit?
This being a sequel to my last blog post, ' RM3million for PSY?', and now having the latest article from The Malaysian Insider, claimed by Teng on his comments, it makes one wonder, has Malaysia plunged into the swirling darkness of terrorism, making death threats in the verge of achieving political targets?
Read more:
http://nickel-low.blogspot.com/2013/02/rm3million-for-psy.html
Deluded, one of my friends said, and a deluded old man he is, having claimed the Korean superstar PSY had death threats coming in from our fellow Malaysian countrymen. This arose from reports that PSY rejected an invitation from Malaysian prime minister Najib to enter the fray to 'lou sang', a Chinese tradition during the Chinese New Year Open House held by Malaysian political party BN. “There was an attempt on Psy’s life so the police had to act to secure the area since his tent was a distance to the stage, that’s why we ask the prime minister to come down from the stage,” he said.
Rejected?
Seriously? I read through those words again and again, unable to believe such words appearing before mii. Could it be true that the Malaysian citizens had to take such drastic measures in political matters? So far, I've seen the dark side, but this?! It's preposterous!
That's not all folks, Teng also did claim that the whole performance was fully sponsored by a private company who did not wished to be named.
“It was sponsored by private sponsors who preferred to remain anonymous as they are afraid of being ‘victimised’ if their identities were revealed ” he said
Suspicious? I really do think so. And most of all, he did claim that he had been given a choice between PSY and Justin Bieber to be invited to the open house. What sorcery is this? Well, at least he did one thing right, he picked PSY over Justin Bieber. That aside, well this nonsense has to just stop. And I don't really have to remind everyone on how the response was on that day right? Once again, not siding any political party, just mad at the stupidity of mankind.

A Memory-full Of Crackers!
It was a cold, rainy
day like no other. Peeking out from the window, the thought of stepping out for
a meal seemed so unappetizing. The whistle of the kettle was heard from afar, its
steam gushing out from all its sides; boiled water was ready. A hot cup of black
coffee made with a tin of Jacob's Cream Crackers in hand. A cracker split into
half, with little crumbs all over; a dunk into the rich aroma of dark black
liquid, combined into something my taste buds would never forget.
It's been that way
ever since I was five! And till today, that great taste IS still the same. The packages
might have changed throughout those years, but that crunchy awesomeness had
amazingly been well-preserved. To dip and dunk these crackers into my favourite
coffee, and to savour that perfect taste was all I could ever ask for.
People say that
these crackers were good for breakfast, but I actually had them for all my meals
at times! I remember a time back then, when I first held onto these crackers, I
really loved the unforgettable butter (cream) smell on them. And there was once
when I tried dipping a cracker into my coffee, I dipped it in too long and it
just broke off; the broken piece floating in my cup, seemingly teasing me. I
got a spoon and fished it out, and instead of throwing it away, I gobbled it
all down. The rich coffee, oozing out from all sides of the cracker, wonderful!
From then onwards, I
developed a skill, a skill that would allow me to dip in for a longest time
possible to allow as much coffee to be absorbed and not let the cracker break
off. And guess what? I'm doing just that till this very day! Anyone with similar experiences?
There was another
moment when I remember having to actually search for coffee to go with my
crackers. Of course, coffee during childhood was never encouraged and my lovely
mum would only allow Milo and milk then. But the taste will never be the same.
Hence, I had to search high and low for the perfect match. White coffee or
Nescafe wasn't of choice. Only the black, dark, semi-sweet roasted coffee would
make the list.
These were the bits
and parcels that made my childhood lively and memorable, thanks to Jacob's! As
I typed, the rain is still pouring outside then. With these crackers by your
side, who would go hungry anyway? Have a great 60 years celebration Jacob's,
and you'll be glad to know that I will stick loyal to you in years to come!
**** This article (with the entry of some paragraphs) has
won Jacob’s Week 2 60th anniversary giveaway, one of 8 winners with the prize of a set
of 5 limited edition tins. The question for week 2 being ‘What is the most
unforgettable childhood memory with Jacob’s Cream Crackers?’. Thx to Jacob’s
once again for their choice!

RM3million for PSY???
Yeah, guess you all got the news. BN (Barisan Nasional, Malaysia's main political unit, for now) has actually got onto the groove to fly PSY into Malaysia, perform ONE song on his famous 'horse-riding' Gangnam Style, and actually pay up to RM3million costs for that gig.The first thing that came to my mind was, what the hell is happening to the Malaysian government? Apart from the ''ooo's'' and ''ahhh's'' that this 1billion YouTube views superstar is actually setting foot in the heart of Penang of course! A short quote from Malaysia Today:
So.... BN will be spending > RM1 mil to invite PSY for a 30mins performance on its Feb 11 Penang's Open House. Will this money be from the federal budget? If yes, means it's OUR MONEY.
Alright, we don't wanna be bias and believe one side of the story. Lets take it then to another news which read:
Penang BN Youth chief Oh Tong Keong clarified that the singer's fees would not be borne by BN or public funds, instead it would be arranged and sponsored by an event management company, Mega Ultimate Sdn. Bhd. Oh had earlier told The Malaysian Insider that preparations and food for the celebration would also be sponsored by local companies. This begs the question of who Mega Ultimate Sdn. Bhd. is and their ability to sponsor a mega-star like PSY? (adapted from Malaysian Digest)

Yes, quite true to say, I mean from reports, that company just being 3years old, how is it actually going to support such an event? For mii, if I were to pull off such a stunt, I would find a company who has had similarities or connections with previous organizations of concerts as this, inject some RM3mil quid, using the benefits of the company's name and cover whatever shit I'll be doing. Simple isn't it? Even a secondary scholar could've done that. Still, don't jump into conclusions, Mega Ultimate may still be the man organizer though.
Then, this event in which being held in Han Jiang College of Penang for the Chinese New Year open house next week, was quoted by no other then Lim Guan Exx saying, “The first time PSY comes to Malaysia and he comes to Penang. So once again Penang leads.” Mr Lim, I really do not know what leading means to you (Although it's normal of the Penang kiashu-ism), but I hope you do know RM3million isn't easy money and what a waste it'll be to spend it on something like this. I mean, reports have been saying (from Malaysian Insider) that such act be done to avoid the shame of not having anyone turning up for the Open House event.
OK, I don't care about your political stuff which is as complicated as usual, but if such a stunt be done, we have local artists who could've fit into the plan as well. Why on earth PSY, who demands so much, comes for 30minutes for those big shots to shake their asses off, and heads home with easy money, leaving us like fools rooted to our ground? This question poses to the Prime Minister as well. Siti Nurhaliza, Peter Pan, or anyone from Maharaja Lawak, and don't forget those Malaysian Chinese singers, are they not options? Citizens of Malaysia, you be the judge!

It may be fun for us, aside with those screaming girls and yelping chicks, is this a stunt to win the hearts of them youngsters? Hmmmm..... To mii, that money could be used for so much more! This is from Malaysia Today:
WITH RM 3 MILLION, PENANG CAN:
- Build FIFTY low to mid-low cost houses and 50 families can have homes, or
- Give THIRTY university scholarships to 30 deserving students from low-income families and brighten their future generations.
Well now, only us Malaysians know what is really happening around, only us have ever tasted the up and downs of this country, only us know what's best for this country. I am not saying this to side any political party, I'm just saying because to mii, this act of foolishness could have been well placed in a different manner. Instead of feeding a 'horse-riding' mania, look around Malaysia and you'll still see some lives still in a state of poverty and many more other national matters to settle. Just because to cover your shame and to buy some pride, you've just dug your grave even deeper. Let's just hope the government does the right thing this time now.
I liked a comment by Kathir Raven on the links I've posted:

This is sooo 3rd world country style.. Like India: no political rally without Bolywood stars! So backwards...parties moving from political ideologies to glamour game. :(
