Some Random Thoughts #1 (Who in the world's gonna buy these?)

Models lining up during the Haute Conture event.

Haute Conture, a French phrase known as 'High-sewing'. And since then, Haute Conture, held every year in the heart of Paris, has stomped the world with its mind-blowing fashion designs. With every needle and thread put together, all seems too good to be true. Well, yes Haute Conture has its own class, and the fashion showcased are mostly acceptable and worshiped worldwide, mostly that is.

But then, there are other fashion showcases all around the world as well, cat-walks, modelling and stuff. So, random thought for today, weird fashion designs.

These fashion designs were no doubt masterminded by the finest craftsmen and women in the world, and while some take it as a job, most take it as a hobby to showcase their imaginations to the world. Still, no offence here, who in the world would buy these outfits anyway? Would you now? Maybe Lady Gaga would, but even she has her own fashion designer to attend to.

Elegant but would you wear that out?

Now who's gonna buy this shit?

And this?

Practical?

Rise Of The Guardians, Childhood Memories Unfolded!

It was like this, after my exam, alone with my other friend Johnny in Seri Manjung and planning to go back only the next morning as it was quite late to depart anyway that day. And to decide what we were gonna do to spend our remaining time in Seri Manjung, Johnny actually (he never has the initiative to ask anyone to movies, nor does he like taking a trip to cinemas, this may be his 1st somehow who knows why) suggested we catch a movie that night. After weighing out the decision between 'Rise Of The Guardians' and 'Life Of PI', we decided on the former and got on the 9.50pm seats in Big Cinemas Seri Manjung.

Turns out, I enjoyed the movie more than I expected I would, simply because the characters used in the movie deeply represents each and every childhood memory I had back in those days. Magical and amazing, it certainly had its catching points, hilarious scenes and also, the 'Believe' that crept into the hearts of many, at least for mii it did, since it last lingered in the soul of my wonderful childhood. Here's the casts, Guardians as they called it in the movie, each with a unique touch to my memory.

1. Sandman (Sandy)

In my opinion, Sandman has given mii an implication since I was a child, of a big, sandy-being putting children of the world to sleep with its magical sleeping dust. Even in Spiderman, Sandman was a big, ugly monster terrorizing the lives citizens. However, Sandman in here, is nothing like it. Cute, cuddly perhaps and of course, sandy, he's the one bringing sand and dust to life with his magical wave of his hands. In fact, being able to bring sweet dreams to the little kids made mii remember the times when my mum puts mii to bed, a kiss on the forehead and saying that Sandman might pay mii a visit if I were a good boy. At least that puts mii to rest, relieving mii of the thought of having nightmares back then.

2. Tooth Fairy (Tooth)

This is another childhood fantasy which I believed in very much. I remembered putting my broken tooth under my pillow, only to find an RM10 note under it the next morning. Of course as a child with wild fantasies, I believed straightaway that she was real back then. Not until I caught my mum sneaking into my room one day, and well, she was the 'tooth fairy' to be exact. In this movie, a sweet, beautiful fairy with her little fairies beside, she had a crush on Jack Frost, that I thought, and it was nice to think that all teeth kept under pillows were actually kept in boxes holding wonderful childhood memories of each loving child.  Nevertheless, the tooth fairy certainly gave mii memories to treasure, after all, it was the easiest way to make money right? XD

3. Easter Bunny (Bunny Mund)

Easter wasn't really celebrated in our country back then. All I've heard and learnt about the Easter Bunny was mostly on movies, Enid Blyton story books and cartoons. Still, those painted eggs and the fantasy of a rabbit hiding them in every nook and cranny got mii fascinated. I remembered those good times when my aunt would get some painted, chocolate Easter eggs from Auckland  for us siblings. And of course the chocolate bunny itself, although I'll always end up eating its ears first then ts bushy tail. Well, in this movie, the Easter Bunny was the most unpredictable one. Fierce, cool, Rambo-like and amazingly good in combat, he's one to watch out for. I actually like the way he teleports himself from one place to another, a good way to travel I thought.

4. Boogeyman (Pitch)

As the antagonist in this movie, I'm sure many children have at least heard about the Boogeyman. Bad dreams, nightmares and scary thoughts, all flung towards the responsibility of the Boogeyman by children of the world. Hiding under beds, behind cupboards and walls, it certainly creeped mii out when I was a kid anyway. Now backtracking, I thought that it was one of my mum's best ways to keep mii all goody goody and nice till I'm all curled up into bed. 'Don't let the Boogeyman find you', those words haunted mii when I was a kid, but now anyway, I still had bad dreams, and Boogeyman was nothing but what was once my greatest fears locked up in my memories. In this movie as well, you'll get to know his role, but kids, do not worry. When there's bad, there's always good. There's Boogeyman, then there's Sandman, and the good thing is, Good always wins over Evil. ^-^

5. Santa Claus (North)

The most favourite character in all childhood fantasies! Who wouldn't know him? Even up till now, I still believed in his existence. Every Christmas, there would be movies about Christmas magic, and who would be the main star if not him? Delivering presents to children of the world, with his Golden Sleight, 12 reindeer, his whole factory of elves and of course, Mrs Claus. All these, it really made mii re-think on how much fun I've been missing out ever since the day I walked out on childhood. And in this movie, the leader of the Guardians, as his role should be, bringing hope, joy and life to the children of the world. No matter where they are, naughty or nice, he looks over them, lifting spirits of Christmas in the souls of them children.

6. Jack Frost

Last but not least, the main character in this story, Jack Frost. Honestly speaking, this movie speaks the truth. Children of the world, they know, they believe in those other characters mentioned above. But who's Jack Frost? As a child, my mum too kept telling mii to watch out that Jack Frost might get mii whenever a cold weather descends upon. But who he really was, I too did not know, and I even thought it was just a metaphor to describe the cold weather, like 'cold bites frost' something like that. Maybe through this movie, people may get to know him a little better. Who knows, he might for once at last, be listened to, be known of his existence, and believed in by children of the world. Who knows, he might just be out there, smiling upon them children as he's finally gained acknowledgement.

No matter what it is, whether you've known of these childhood-fantasy characters, this is really a movie to enjoy and indulge in. Those magical moments, the story line and the graphics, they are all simply awesome, certainly a movie to go for as a warm-up for the upcoming Christmas. Do enjoy the movie, it's a waste to miss this really.

Kim Jong Kook 7th Album, Journey Home

Honestly, those Running Man series have helped mii discovered a singer, tough and muscular on the outside , yet a voice that could melt the hearts of many ~~ Kim Jong Kook. Yes, this guy has certainly surprised mii with his voice, in fact I couldn't even believe that he was the man who made 'Lovable' (one of his older songs during his Turbo days) sound that much extra little special and awesome!

When I first got to know him on Running Man, I found myself deeply engorged in his songs. Unlike those modern-day K-Pops that we indulge in, his songs simply made an impact on mii. Now, apart from being just a Running Man member, I seriously, adore him and he is definitely in my record books of being one of the best singers I've ever set my ears on. I was wondering when he was gonna release his next album though, and as if thoughts are things, he finally stepped up with his latest masterpiece, 7th album, Journey Home!

Here's the list of the songs in the album:

Most importantly, one of his songs, 'Words I Want To Say To You' features the feat of Gary (Peaceful Gary of LeeSsang) and Haha (Haroro), two of Running Man's famous cast members, making this a very special and unique album indeed. Words aside, here's to enjoying Kim Jong Kook's latest album, Journey Home! XD

1. Words I Want To Say To You

2. Men Are All Like That

3. Men Also Feel Sad

4. Thinking Of You

5. Thousands Of Footprints

6. You Should Be Happy

7. So Pretty

8. Nostalgia

9. Disappearing

10. Story That Is Not The End

  And, my all-time favourite!!!!! Lovable!!!!!!

Lee Chong Wei's Perfect Wedding?

First of all, congratulations to Lee Chong Wei, Malaysia's No.1 badminton player for his wonderful, match-perfect wedding with Wong Mew Choo, another Malaysian badminton legend. Was wanting to write this article a long time since, but hadn't found the flow to go with it. That aside, their wedding to mii was one of the best ever Malaysian wedding ceremony to have ever stamp an impact in the hearts of us Malaysians. That said, with all those grand furnishes, exquisite touches and luxurious decor to add to mind-blowing glimpses of the wedding ceremony itself, was it considered and accounted for as Lee Chong Wei's perfect wedding?

Yes, as Malaysians, we all know what I meant. There's that sitting confusion, where the bride and groom seemed to be separated by you-know-who. And regretfully, you can't blame the latter, blame shall be upon the organizers on what were they thinking by separating two love-birds, whom were on one of their most important day of their lives. Shame on them to prioritized power over love and the lack of rationale to look into this matter.

Separated?

As for the latter, not much to comment upon but it would seem people have lost the sense of rationalism and thought for others. I mean, who in the freaking world would wanna come in between a couple during their wedding day? If it were mii, regardless of the arranged sitting, I would have just gave up my place to Dato Lee. It's his day, even in the Malay custom, they have a saying of 'Raja Sehari' for the married couple, which means 'King For a Day'. If anyone should come in between mii and my bride during my wedding, seriously I would have just stood up, walked over and asked that person to just move aside. Maybe that's what Dato Lee should have done, but you know, the power of saving since a kid (A true Malaysian would get this).

Then there was the sad father who claimed that his son abandoned him and left him out of the joyousness and warmth of this special occasion. The press soon caught this when his dad took it to Facebook and soon comments were swarming in, with many of them putting the blame on Dato Lee being a selfish and disrespectful son. Well, from mii myself, shit you all and damn hell you'll be for all those comments. One moment you were supporting him as a national hero, the next you're pummeling him to earth with all kinds of wicked comments.

Seriously, one shouldn't comment if you do not know the real story behind this. People really love to act on first thought without thinking much, and that's what kills this society. Come on, we've gotta cut Dato Lee some slack. It's his special day, and you're making it worse for him. He deserves better than punishing words, and things are not as what they seemed. I'm sure he has a reason behind this, so before you start to judging, think wisely again.

“I’ve known Mew Choo since my junior days and we’ve been in and out of relationship for the last 11 years. Of course, there have been misunderstandings but she has always stood by me,” said Chong Wei.
“She knew me and liked me even when I was a nobody ... and she has not changed. She has waited for me for a long time and I decided that it was time to marry her. She is one patient woman and I like that quality in her.”

This here is Dato Lee's touching build-up to what he is today. Being able to be together means everything to them, hence this day marks a new beginning, a spark in their lives to the future. Regardless of how people think of him, he is and will be still the No.1 hero in Malaysia. As for his wedding, was it perfect or not, it was up to people to judge. To mii, there were hiccups no doubt, but to be able to spend the rest of my life being with the one I truly love shall overpower anything else in this world. After all, love conquers all, right? XD

PS: All the best to Dato Lee and Mew Choo! May you have a great future ahead!!!

The Controversial McDonald's Burger

Well, recently, we've all heard about the news of McD, about it's controversial FREE burgers. Yeah, the word FREE certainly gets people hustling, especially us Malaysians. Who wouldn't want anything free frankly speaking?

Anyway, being here in Seri Manjung, Perak has seriously dented my chances of getting internet, especially when your're using Maxis Broadbands. P1 Wimax rules here, just to let ya'll know. And no internet, no blog posts. Hence I was off to the nearest McD to get some connection to the world! Upon reaching, it was crowded, simply crowded. I was there for my usual breakfast set, McD's apple pie and lukewarm Arabic coffee. At first I thought McD's business was so freaking good, so many people lining up making orders. An uncle beside mii starting talking on how he lined up right to the entrance for two days now and got two free burgers. Then only I came to know when people started grabbing about, FREE BURGERS!

Crowds!

And crowds!

Honestly, I never knew I would find myself in the lining to get one of these. I even thought the promotion period was over too. The controversy of this burger has also hit the internet by storm, famous as it is, I never thought of getting one actually, until today when a staff herself handed mii a paper-bag of the meal when I was gonna make mii order. Well, who could resist right? And it would be weird to reject it on the spot, hence MINE BURGER!

Lookie what I've got!

The controversy to be honest started in Malaysia, in which 'Save GAZA' quotes and pictures could be seen all over the internet. I myself would rather stay out of this, but I certainly wish them well, who wants to die anyway right? These all has brought to the 'campaign' of boycotting McD's products and the free burger itself, with many claiming that this was a tactic of McD trying to win the minds of people by giving free burgers.

To mii, my point of view (no offence), the first thing that came to my mind was, how could these FREE burgers help to fund the attack on GAZA itself? And besides, this is a franchised company, owned by us Malaysians ourselves. We shouldn't have anything to do with that right? Of course there may be hidden motives which I personally admit that I know nothing of. But for mii, if I wanna help out, I would pray, pray with my heart for their well-being. Instead of being 'Cyber Heros', with Facebook itself is erm, regarded as 'one of them'.

Mii breakfast! XD

Anyhow, enjoyed my burger, hadn't gotten the chance to enjoy my apple pie though. Amidst all these, RELA were also standing-by out there, in case any fight breaks out, but the only fight I see were the customers jabbing each other for them burgers. Malaysians, we just love free things don't we,? That's what makes us who we are! XD

Thx McD for making my breakfast so eventful. And to my Muslim friends and those in GAZA, I'll pray hard for your well-being and wish you all the best. May you get through all these hardships as soon as possible. One day, just one day maybe, we humans could actually learn to live together peacefully...
