Delicious @ One Utama

  Hi readers!!!! It's been a while, but being back once again at One Utama, this time mii and ma aunt had decided to crash ourselves onto this lovely little outlet, Delicious! As clear as its name states, this is something you guys wanna feast your taste-buds on then.

A wide variety!

  Well, having passed by this outlet many times, my aunt soon decided it was the time to give this shop a verdict. Hence in we walked, greeted by a rather friendly service and seated comfortably in the middle of a heart-warming ambiance. As music was played, I scanned my eyes on the wide range of lovely little cakes on display. And when the menu came, it was a moment of being spoilt-of-choices, hence I was deeply indulged in the wide variety of foods available then. Most of it were western cuisines, but the desserts and cakes were the centre of attraction.

  Anyway, I called for the chef-recommended 'The Delicious Club Sandwich' while my aunt went for the 'Duck Confit Spaghettini'. We also decided on the 'Coconut Cake' as our dessert. Soon after, our orders arrived, and it was then taste-testing time!

  'The Delicious Club Sandwich' was served with chopped salad and potato wedges, making it a hearty meal. And it wasn't called a club sandwich for no reason. Having layers made up of grilled chicken, pesto, egg and tomatoes on toasted Brioche and some turkey bacon to add, one bite into it and you'll be lost for words. It was amazingly flavorful! I'm not really a fan of sandwiches anyway as I always thought they were too dry and hard to bite in. This however was a star-graduate of it class, a burst of flavours; its sauce tantalizing your taste-buds in whichever way it wants and the chicken, grilled to perfection. A must-try whenever you pay a visit here. And yes it was filling, very good-for-value portion, certainly one of the best sandwiches I've tasted in a very long time.

A taste of heaven

  Next on was the 'Duck Confit Spaghetti'. Well we all know how tough duck meat could be. But this however were slices of tender, juicy duck meat mixed with flavorful sun-dried tomatoes and coriander, it was really worth the value paid for. I could only describe it in two words: Amazingly awesome! With olive oil too add, I thought that with was cooked with pure passion and heart. Unlike many other spaghetti sold in many other outlets, this was cooked to the extent that you couldn't find any reason to criticize it. The spaghetti itself was not too soft, nor too hard, the whole dish doesn't give you that 'ughh, so oily' feeling and with the duck meat and spices added to, this is something you SHOULD go for whenever you pay a visit here.

   After all that, we soon treated ourselves to the dessert we picked, le 'Coconut Cake'. Alright, I had to admit I'm very particular in cakes, because:

1: I hate cakes to have the over-buttery taste;
2: I hate cakes that are too dry;
3: I can't take cakes (actually I can't take any foods) that are too sweet as it will then cause a bad ache to the site of my newly operated wisdom teeth.

  I was very afraid this cake would not be able to satisfy my taste, but how wrong I was. This was amazing! Moist, not too sweet and filled with yummy coconut, with some fresh cream within to add to the impressing appearance of the cake itself, this was DELICIOUS! Ok, now I know where the name of this outlet comes from...

  Well, there were other cakes as well, and we got to know that the cakes were changed everyday for freshness. There were daily specials on the cakes too, a new cake everyday hence you won't get bored with the same-old same-old. But I would highly recommend the Coconut Cake, though there are lots more of delicious cakes yet to be tested. Never mind, soon! (I told myself that).

  Overall, I loved the service at One Utama Delicious outlet. Fast and friendly. These little things certainly make up to a wonderful dining experience, and I assure you'll find the same whenever you pay a visit here. Till then, see ya!!! :)

Colours OF Georgetown, Penang

  Having some time off, I decided to get on a trip to revisit the glorious streets of Georgetown, Penang with my family. And once you get to Georgetown, you would find it hard to resist the temptation of actually going rounds and rounds searching for the famous mural arts by Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic. And now, you'll also find murals by ASA (Artists for Stray Animals) on their project to create awareness on care for stray animals with CATS in their masterpieces. One tip before actually making a trip there, is to do some research on the locations of all the paintings, or else you're gonna be in a hell of a maze then.

  Special about these paintings were its 3D effects, where tourists too get to enjoy 'being a part' in these masterpieces. However, some may bring to a point of disappointment as many of these paintings are losing their shine. Like the ''Little boy with pet dinosaur'' mural on Ah Quee Street, well that was almost gone I could say. Still, besides these murals, do look out for the many wire arts all around the area as well, fascinating!

  Well, there are so much to see here in the streets of Georgetown. Many lovely coffee shops, pubs and bars are all opened up, welcoming tourists to shake off some of that sight-seeing madness. Bikes and trishaws are for rent as well, another perfect way to get around every nook and cranny of this amazing art-hideout.

  Of course, don't forget about the food in Georgetown. It ain't complete if you go back not having a taste of Penang Cendol and Laksa!

  Well, I've missed a few of the mural arts, hence it would certainly be a great reason for mii to come back here one day. That concludes my one-day trip to Georgetown Penang, an amazing place to relive times of the past!

Drool baby drool!

  Hi readers! Craving something from Taiwan? Got an urge for something tasty to feast on? Well, I'm in Malacca still and man, am I enjoying food here!

Watch out for this shop!

  Here, would love to recommend this noodle shop. Hand-made noodles mixed with an exquisite sauce to taste, this is a must try if you drop by the town of Malacca. The shop sells mainly BBQ pork-chop noodles and spicy beef noodles, a spot-on recipe all the way from Taiwan for 30 years now and counting! And what could I say, the owners are Taiwanese themselves!!

  The noodles are tangy and soft, home-made sauce and awesome BBQ delights to go with, it is a worthy filling. Plus, the spicy beef noodles are a hit here, mixed with sambal sauce, it is a must-try for beef lovers. Drooling already?

  Besides, the prices are reasonable, and do note they have another branch in Malim. Anyways, do try out this special delicacy, makes mii miss my Taiwan trip even more now! :)

RainForest Coffee Bean @ Jonker Street, Malacca

  For the past few weeks, it would seem that I've hit upon a blogging hiatus, really had lost touch in the 'ideas' department. Plus time was not really a friend of mine in recent times then. Anyway, my recent travels found myself scurrying through the historical streets of Malacca, rampaging through all kinds of local delicacies it has to offer.

  As always, everyone would have rather died than trying to miss the Malacca famous chicken rice balls, or the exquisite taste of satay celup, and of course the amazing Malacca cendol. Those aside, I happen to stumble upon modernization, something of rich flavour and taste ~~ Behold, a coffee shop in the heart of Jonker Street!

The Holy-Book-Of-Coffee!

  Few years back during my last trip here, I've not remembered seeing the front of this shop, at least that was what memory has for mii. And now there it was, RainForest Coffee Bean; it's rich aromas of neatly-served coffee, reaching out to tourists for a stop-by.

  This shop was actually one that deals with business of antiques of all kinds few years back, but has now been partly converted into a coffee heaven for caffeine addicts. Of course the antiques are still on for display, business goes on as usual, but the dimension of the shop has changed. With people coming in and out, enjoying the rich taste of Arabican Coffee Beans while the antiques get a fair share of exhibition moments.

  Now on the coffee, it claims to serve 100% Arabican originated coffee beans. And of course being a major caffeine addict, I couldn't help but to take on a warm cup of cappuccino. My friend Mei Yee decided on some macaroons to add to taste.

  What can I say? I've tasted cappuccinos from Malaysia to Taiwan, China, Thailand, Switzerland and many more, not to say from franchised companies, so and so. And yes, as in all high-quality coffee beans, this suits my taste a lot! The perfect combo of bitterness and tinge of sweetness; without brown sugar, it by itself is an amazing stand-out I give you that, certainly worth a try!

  Oh yes, the macaroons  lovely little sweeties they are. We got 3 pieces for RM9, of purple, brown and chocolate colours. The purple one was lavender my friend said, and one bite proves it all. It is not just the taste that was exquisite, but that the sweet, flowery smell arose from each bite, certainly you could still smell that sweet aroma after gulping down one of these. For the chocolate and brown ones, well, chocolate is chocolate, no changing to that. But we were unable to identify the taste of the Mr. Brown. My friend thought it was peanut butter, nevertheless, the aroma ad taste was enough to put ones heart to content.

  Honestly, I did not try much then due to my overblown tank of wonderful foodstuff that day. Of course there are many other kinds of coffee and non-coffee based drinks here, and each and every of them perfected to suit one's taste. Would recommend the Affogato and Cafe Latte there. Rich and awesome in every aspect. Do try out the other tidbits and desserts served there too, I'm sure there would be one for the liking.

  Overall, this really is a place to stop-by to have a quick rest after a days walk at Jonker Street, and certainly a heaven for coffee lovers. Do stop by some time, at least I would in the following weeks to come. Till then, see ya!! :)
