The Pride Of Being A Blogger

Before I start off, I would want to thank my doubters and critics for this piece of writing idea in this article itself. No really, I thank them, not sarcastically perhaps, but as all bloggers would do in such circumstances, and hence this response to all the negativity.

Yes, as in the blood of all bloggers, writers and scribblers, we all write because we could. Prove the fact that we could express ourselves better in words rather than speech. The infamy character of the misunderstanding society sees this otherwise. Well if your're writing a personal blog or diary, and labeled it personal, I would agree by sharing that piece of work with everyone else around you to be uncanny and irony of principles. As for bloggers like mii, I write to share with the world, not just with the ones around mii.

In the route of making a name for yourself in the world, you face difficulties ~~ and the unforgiving critics once again prove a hurdle for many. I've been blogging for nearly two years now, and I've hit a fairly satisfactory result with the amount of viewers and responses that I've amounted up till then. Of course, this by no means I stand anywhere near to world-class, full-time and many of the famous bloggers around the world. But who cares, self-satisfaction is what I pursue most, and as long as there is someone out there who is willing to read my articles, I'm happy.

Still, as I yearn to improve, that's where critics and negativity pour in. Some questioned my writing abilities, some doubt the achievements on targets which I've set to hit, and some even lunged in on my thoughts of my popularity. Well, here I would say, if you've not been a blogger, you'll never know what it feels like blogging. To mii, I keep my stand, my ways and my own thoughts on blogging. I will still keep my own techniques on writing, targets which have been set shall be pushed on still for achievement, and no, I'm not popular, YET. But I've set my sights on the possibilities, whether I'm able to succeed or fail, time shall tell. Till then, I'm trying very hard to push my blog popularity through any ways I could.

Ask any of those famous bloggers, they set out on a same quest ~~~ gain readers, gain followers, gain popularity! After that, everything shall follow on smoothly, with many earning big time just through their blogs. Of course, I'm not gonna be that stupid to post sensitive issues just like recent bloggers Alvivi did just to seek fame, instead I'll try using words and ideas to actually move people. I'm happy with recent achievements though, gaining recognition from companies like Nestle, Jacob's Biscuits, Fullhouse Cafe and Chicago Rib House just to name a few, it was an honour. Of course, I hope it wouldn't just stop right there, and I'm hoping for more good things to come in future!

Here's a few of my winning articles!

http://nickel-low.blogspot.com/2012/05/love-and-warmth-tasted-like-never.html

Be known that it is not to rent any anger, no. I willingly accept critics and doubts, and yes I do sometimes change to suit the reading needs of society, with more of my articles now on foods and recent happenings. I just want to clear the negativity on my actions, and made it known for my one and only aim ~~ to make or break for this blog of mine....

Credits to all my doubters and critics, without you, there wouldn't be this article, thanks!

Minions Craze ~~ The Apocalypse Of The Sane Human Mind

Well, I dare say many of us have watched the movie Despicable Me 2, haven't we? And yes the show starring Gru, a villain who once dreamt of taking over the world with his evil schemes, has now turned goody goody by hoping ship, trying instead to save the world from his evil compatriots. Simple as that? NO! Ask any of your friends and they'll reveal the truth >>> the minions have somehow hypnotized their minds into watching this movie. In fact, they came because of the minions! Many of them don't even know the meaning of Despicable!

With every Happy Meal....

Honestly speaking, the whole movie was a big let down. Don't get mii wrong, the minions are as their usual, cute-selves, injecting some laughter once in a while throughout the screening. But if you watched the movie in a neutral point of view, you would find the movie, plain, too direct, too predictable and compared to the 1st version of Despicable Me, its a total disappointment. Still, the fact that these cute minions have blurred the minds of many doesn't just stop there!

Moment of madness!

All lining up for hours!

Drum rolls ~~~~~~ McDonald's, who else? Seizing the opportunity of the minion invasion, they came out with a very strategical piece of business, Free Minion Toys with every purchase of McDonald's Happy Meal! And there goes the sanity of the human race, invading all stored nationwide just to grab hold of these plastic minions. Ok, I wouldn't blame the children having a role to play in this, but the adults as well?! Doesn't make sense when these full grown-ups suddenly come flooding up stores, some even queuing up since the early mornings for hours just to get a Happy Meal. Poor children who actually wants these toys, many of them going home empty-handed, doesn't seem like a Happy Meal anymore now, would it?

Keep Calm people!

Minions, now even in LOL!!!

To make things worse, now people are even trading the minions! Some are even crying that they weren't able to get them (adults too!). Some quarreling and fighting on the internet for the minions. Some load them up on e-bay and sell them for a price up to RM2k!!! And, to top up the pile of insanity, SOMEONE EVEN BOUGHT IT! Goddammit it's a freaking PLASTIC TOY!  Real matured people.....

RM2,010 ?!?!?!?!?!??!!

By all means, this craze would soon die down, and as they say, 'a moment of madness'. Soon they'll look back to this awkwardly, somehow still, something to be remembered. This wouldn't be the last of it though, there will always be something new coming up and the craze would start all over again. Well, they did say the world would end, will it end this way though? The apocalypse of the sane human mind.....

Some Random Thoughts #4 (Wisdom Tooth?)

Smart enough? Nope, just plain stupid!

As many of you have not known, about a few weeks ago, I had dental surgery (apeictomy they called it) to remove a mouth-terrorizing condition, called the Wisdom Tooth >>> Teeth! The fact that I had the 'luck' of having TWO growing relentlessly beneath the gums of my lower jaw.

Types of wisdom tooth! Mine was angular

For almost a year I had to put up with them due to my busy schedules, bla bla bla... How they pushed against my gums and impacting on the nearby teeth, causing frequent flares that caused fever. Foods can't be chewed properly and gums get bitten accidentally by the upper jaws. And finally, tadahhh!!!! Got them all out after a 4 hour surgery under GA (General Anesthetic) and I still have my souvenirs with mii.

Something to remember! :)

Anyway, the point is, why on earth would people name them wisdom tooth?!?! Nah it certainly doesn't make mii any smarter, my borderline marks in exams would prove much; nor does it seem to grow wisely either! Fact, it grows tremendously STUPIDLY!!!!

Swollen and impacted gums!

Looking up on the website and got this:
They're called wisdom teeth because they generally appear later in life at a time when you are presumably "wiser" than you were as a child when your other teeth were coming in.

Wow! That makes sense, SO NOT!! Still, I've got to know lot's of people besides mii having similar problems. My advice is to keep calm, get an appointment for a surgery, keep good oral hygiene and drink more cold water for a few days after surgery (helps to stop bleeding by vasoconstriction). After that, you can eat all you want!!! Cya!! :)

Watch Out! 1,079 AES Cameras Coming Your Way!

Met the powers of AES yet? Yeah, the one that flashes at your while you're zooming down the fast track. Well, watch out everyone! Our dear Kementrian Pengangkutan or JPJ (Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalanraya) has claimed that there are more to come, in numbers summing up to 1,079 units yet to be installed throughout the streets of Malaysia.

Found this, hope it helps!

Locations are yet to be determined but do keep a watchful eye on these AES. Get caught by one and there goes your day's earning especially when you're still just a student. Reports state that up till 11th July 2013, a total of RM20 million have been collected through summons, of which are speeding and running the red light the main issues. Well, that's a whole damned lot of bloody money!

Anyway, however way you may think, be it a good or bad issue, keep in mind more of these will be up by the end of 2013. More news on the following site: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/bahasa/article/1079-kamera-aes-akan-dipasang-di-seluruh-negara

Pacific Rim: Movie Of The Year!!!

Pacific Rim! Bold, bloody and packs punches of awesomeness! This really is one movie you must catch in cinemas, I repeat, YOU MUST CATCH in cinemas! Here's why.....

Best of the summer!

Awesome animation!

Directed and written by Guillermo del Toro and Travis Beachem, this American sci-fi film will move you to the edge of your seats. Starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Rob Kazinsky, Max Martini, and Ron Perlman, this action packed film is a one-of-its kind, in fact a fantasy of a childhood, reminiscing memories of Ultraman and Power Rangers in their robots, fighting off monsters to protect the world from devastation.

A journey beyond imagination!

To fight monsters, we created monsters

And they brought them to 'life'! Really, the animation is a wonder, 'Go big or go extinct!', it's motto says it all. Set in the deep seas of the unforgiving Pacific Ocean, the Earth as we know it is under attack by colossal monsters, known as Kaiju, emerging from a portal deep beneath the ocean bed. We humans don't stand a chance, until the Jaeger Project came up, and faith in humanity was restored to a certain point, by combating with gigantic humanoid mecha, known as Jaegers. Controlled by two pilots through a neutral connection known as the Drift, trust mii, this movie will bring animation and imagination to new heights!

Found this fascinating!

Now even in games!!!!

Plus, the music I have to say, is super catchy! Composed by Ramin Djawadi, the score was specially selected by Del Toro himself. Certainly adds a lot of plus points to this movie. Of course, the Jaegers in this movie were totally awesome. From different countries with names of their own, they add a mix of excitement and variety to the movie, somewhat compared to Real Steal, but enough with the comparing, as I said, this IS the best movie of the year! Besides, they even have a game based on the movie itself, gonna grab one of these!

The main 'man', Gipsy Danger!

Amazing 3-arm battle machine! Crimson Typhoon

A heavy-weight champion! Cherno Alpha

The best and most advanced! Striker Eureka

This is the one not seen in the movie, Coyote Tango

Overall, I gave a 10/10 rating for this movie. The animation, the ideas, the music score and the story-line, all  in one big masterpiece, one to really look forward to! Move aside Optimus Prime, these Jaegers are coming through!!!!

Colours OF Georgetown, Penang

''Little children on a bicycle'' mural, on Armenian Street.

Having some time off, I decided to get on a trip to revisit the glorious streets of Georgetown, Penang with my family. And once you get to Georgetown, you would find it hard to resist the temptation of actually going rounds and rounds searching for the famous mural arts by Lithuanian artist, Ernest Zacharevic. And now, you'll also find murals by ASA (Artists for Stray Animals) on their project to create awareness on care for stray animals with CATS in their masterpieces. One tip before actually making a trip there, is to do some research on the locations of all the paintings, or else you're gonna be in a hell of a maze then.

''Reaching up'' mural, on Cannon Street

Fat cat!

''Boy on a bike'' mural at Ah Quee Street.

Special about these paintings were its 3D effects, where tourists too get to enjoy 'being a part' in these masterpieces. However, some may bring to a point of disappointment as many of these paintings are losing their shine. Like the ''Little boy with pet dinosaur'' mural on Ah Quee Street, well that was almost gone I could say. Still, besides these murals, do look out for the many wire arts all around the area as well, fascinating!

One of the wire arts!

Wire art on Nyonya folk!

My bros, kicking up at a mural!

Into another dimension! (That is a painting hanging on the wall, amazing!)

Well, there are so much to see here in the streets of Georgetown. Many lovely coffee shops, pubs and bars are all opened up, welcoming tourists to shake off some of that sight-seeing madness. Bikes and trishaws are for rent as well, another perfect way to get around every nook and cranny of this amazing art-hideout.

Get a map and you're ready to go!

Old records up for exhibition!

Of course, don't forget about the food in Georgetown. It ain't complete if you go back not having a taste of Penang Cendol and Laksa!

Penang Cendol!

Penang Asam Laksa!

Well, I've missed a few of the mural arts, hence it would certainly be a great reason for mii to come back here one day. That concludes my one-day trip to Georgetown Penang, an amazing place to relive times of the past!
