Won Korean Dinning, an amazing experience!

Yes, I do have to admit the Running Man programme had made a change in taste buds of mine lately. Usually, I'm not a big fan of Korean cuisine, but now after this experience, I don't see how I could ever say no to Korean BBQ anytime.

Simplicity, tranquility.

Great atmosphere

Won Korean Dining in I-Setan, 1Utama, Selangor has made an immediate impact, stamping it's authority in my list of best ever tasted delicacies of all time! The first time entering, I still wasn't sure about Korean foods until I tasted some of the best delicacies there. With the latest K-Pop on TV as entertainment, a glance through the menu certainly opened up my eyes to new flavours. The names of the dishes were in Korean, but of course explained in English. But having a Korean owner to serve us, it was simply better to get to know the delicacies in perfect details and recommendations straight from a local.

A pledge to all customers

Menu sneak peak

In just 3 weeks time, I've made 3 visits already to the place. And each time, I've never seem to ever miss out on the BBQ delicacy. Well, 1st of all, I highly recommend, in fact the owner herself recommends the Shindangdong Tteockbokki ~~ Korean fry rice-cakes and noodles mixed in thick yummy spicy sauce. This is much better than the one I once had in Ampang Korean Village, not too spicy, thick and creamy, and of course full of taste. It wasn't too salty and it really is good eaten hot. The rice-cakes are not too sticky, nor too hard, and to mix with the specially made spicy sauce is simply amazing. Another special thing about the rice-cakes is that they were imported straight from Korea, so don't ever doubt the quality, the taste simply marvelous!

Bubbly goodness, Shindangdong Tteockbokki.

Springy noodles

A must try!!

The spicy sauce is a catch!

Next, the main stars,  Daepae Samgyupsal (thin pork belly slices BBQ dish) or Samgyupsal (thick pork belly slices BBQ dish)! These two dishes have made mii crave for BBQ every time I step into the place. For mii, both taste excellent when put to the grill, but the thick slices of pork belly stands out most. Crisp, aromatic and grilled with garlic and onions, this is the taste of a lifetime! Our dishes were specially cooked by the owner herself, hence it was a privilege to get a Korean to actually help us make our meal even more appetizing! She even taught us the ways of eating it, two ways in fact, I'll explain later below.

Sauces and spice makes it nice!

 Watch the transformation!

1.

 2.

 3.

 4.

 5.

 6.
Walla! All done and ready to eat!!!!!

With oil trickling down the gutters of the grill set, you'll taste the whole flavour of the meat, no oil, no porky smell. Just the meat! For health conscious diners, you'll not have to worry about the oil then, simply tantalizing! With some green tea to add to, this meal certainly made our time worth-while.

Ways to eat:

Type 1:

1.
Green lettuce as the base.

 2.
Sprinkle grated cabbages on top of lettuce.

 3.
Mix and match your sauce.

4.
Add meat and enjoy!!!!!

 Type 2:

1.
Dip meat directly into specially made salted olive oil.

 2.
Dip meat into specially made spicy bean paste. Enjoy!!!

Each meal comes with refillable side dishes, and trust mii even the side dishes are good themselves. There is also the Jeyook Doenjangjigae, pork slices stirred fried in special spicy sauce (Pictures to be updated a.s.a.p). This is also a favourite of mine, but sadly no pictures were taken for this dish, was too hungry that day! XD Anyway, do go for that, a great satisfaction that!

Refillable side dishes.

Sweet sour ice sherbet as dessert!

Last but not least, pictures to sum it all up! It really was a great dinning experience for mii, especially pork eaten in a very different and superb way. I'm going back there again soon, hope to see you guys there too! Many thanks to the Korean lady who helped us introduce and prepare our food, Kamsamnida!!

Blank Mind, Soul, Body

And it's October, two more months to a new year ahead; well given the 'End of the world' prediction doesn't materialize that is. Things came and gone the way they should, some unpredictable, others on route as expected. Nevertheless, it's been quite a fruitful year for mii ever since my postings started. However, the thing I've feared most has finally come to haunt; my mind, blank as it is!

Unknown of the cause, I've become very lost in the blank state of my mind. Even to write this blog took mii about 3days to think about a topic to actually start typing away. Writing gibberish sentence by sentence, then backspacing them away repeatedly, it's become a norm of my life now. Uncertainty has gotten the best of mii, and I've lost the ability to focus and make critical decisions. To step in or step out; to do or not to do, things like these could get mii all agitated for the rest of the day, without a conclusion at the end. It's how I get through my life these days, pathetic as it seems, my life that is!

A flashback on who and what I previously was ~~ a person who makes all decisions by himself, a person who cares not of how people think, a person who knows not of the meaning of failure. Be it liked or hated by others, at least he was on a roll, he was pushing for something, he had an aim and a dream to accomplish.  Now, it's like living in a shell left by that very person, not knowing of what to be expected of him, lost and blank as he is now. To be honest, I've even had second thoughts on my pre-determined career; 'What if I were to have taken that path? What if I were to have led that life? Would I be happy being what I am in future? Was my choice the right one in the end?', thoughts like these surfaced in my mind. Have I gone mad? Or is this just a short-term uncertainty syndrome? It worries mii, and to make matters worse, I've no idea or answer to those questions.

It wasn't pressure that made mii the way I am now. In fact I don't feel pressurized at all. It's a good thing though I still have the determination to continue on what I'm on route of, but the confidence and the will portrayed during the 1st two months of my 3rd year has taken a dramatic plunge. In short, I've lost my enthusiasm and concentration, regardless of the reason, I've taken a step backwards, I've lost my identity. You think it's because I feel bored about my career, no that's not the case. Not to mention relationship wise, I've also put a halt to all my emotions for now. Friends kept urging mii to get a partner fast and put an end those lonely nights. The only problem was, I've not even the mood for that! Surprisingly those words, coming out from me, myself! All I'm interested is in my games and dramas, other than that I've turned a blind eye towards them. I've shunned myself from getting too involved with my emotions, even though there ARE times, those nights were, as they say, quite lonely indeed.

Nevertheless, this is a lay-low period for mii. Seems to mii I'll need a significant push from somewhere somehow to get my engines up and running once more. Things aren't going too well for mii at the time being, and I'm gonna try to put them right. The enthusiasm and attitude has to be right, and I'll try to make sure that becomes a reality. The only task now is, how am I suppose to do that? Not all things come easy, and there will always be ups and downs in everything we do. In words, they sound nice and meaningful, but to actually understand and experience it is a matter of unknown boundaries. 'Life is like a canvas. It begins blank, and every day is like a brush stroke. Make your life a masterpiece', uttering those words, I stopped short, wondering how on earth did my 'masterpiece' of all reasons, revert back to the 'blank canvas' it once started out as.

Having said that now, I'm staring blankly even into my desktop, thinking of what I'm suppose to do right after this. Sleep? Yeah, sounds good to mii, it's a rainy night anyway, tucking into my cozy bed with a warm blanket on top seems perfect to end my day with. Oh well, that really sums up my life nowdays, incorrigible is all that describes of mii. I'll need to wake up a different person, soon, really soon, I hope....

Fullhouse ~~ Lifestyle Store and Cafe

Not too long ago, I celebrated another of my friend's 21st birthday. As on every birthday, I was able to open my eyes to a new dining experience, and this time, our destination would be Sunway Pyramid's Fullhouse in KL. On stepping through the arches at the entrance, I was amazed by the concept of this restaurant. Combining a store and a dining cafe within, this place is well decorated with arts, sculptures, paintings, beautifully lighted bulbs and boasting a soothing, grand white-painted theme. Nevertheless it really is a sight for sore eyes, and certainly a place for a romantic dinner, so do make plans peeps!

Store within the cafe.

The menu is literally a magazine concept. The way it presents its dishes brings out a whole new idea to the advertising market. Certainly the menu is a catch, and apart from the big giant menus in 'Chicago Pork Ribs Restaurant', this also scores a double thumbs up in my personal view.

Magazine or menu??

Creative and eye-catching!

And yes, them foods! Certainly here at Fullhouse, I would highly recommend the Dory Fish dish. Soft, tender, and cooked to perfection, this is really a treat for them taste buds! Topped with fresh bean sprouts, mashed potatoes and vegetables in between, plus being the fact submerged in a pool of specially made sauce, this is a must-try on the menu itself. Unlike many other restaurants, Fullhouse utilizes the wonders of taste, sight and smell to bring out the best in this dish, hence make sure you don't miss it should you pay a visit to this place.

Must try Dory Fish!

Next on my must-try list would be the mixed seafood dish. With salmon as the main star, squid rings, mussels and mashed potatoes, topped with yet again specially made sweet sour mango sauce, this is also a must try for seafood lovers. The salmon too is cook to perfection, and unlike many other, the salmon isn't too dry nor too slimy in texture, just nice in between.

Mixed seafood!

Apart from fish, the breaded chicken cutlet is also a star in the menu. But as recommended in the menu itself, the chef's choice would be the mushroom sauced Wok-Sear chicken chop. Though there's a little dissatisfaction on the portion of the chicken provided,  the taste however doesn't tend to disappoint, making it up for that slight imperfection.

Breaded Chicken Cutlet

Chef's choice Wok-Sear Chicken Chop

Still, my favourite choice out of the chicken meat dishes would still be the Chicken Tenderloin. Topped with special made hot sauce, the meat is tender, soft and surprisingly aromatic on each bite. Certainly it does poses a challenge to Kenny Rodgers Roasted Chicken, having matched both in taste and texture, another must-go-for on the menu!

Yummy Chicken Tenderloin!

Other dishes would be the spaghetti dishes as shown below, but if you're looking for something filling and appetizing in proportion, try to go for the dishes as mentioned above. There are also side dishes and the drinks here are also worth a try. Do try the passion fruit green tea if you have the chance, that would be my personal favourite amongst the rest.

Olio Spaghetti

Hot lemon grass

Great food, great drinks!

Nevertheless, this is a restaurant worth visiting on special occasions and stuff. The place is really beautifully decorated and it looks really grand from the outside. Well, pictures will do the talking anyway, and I shall leave that task to them. I also heard that Fullhouse do organize live music and arts performances, and it would really then blend well with a nice meal, simply great food, great drinks, and great environment!

Wonderful paintings

The main character of Fullhouse

Wonderful decorations

Old white grandpa clock!!

Very comfy environment!

Beautiful classy lights

Also, I would like to wish my friend Leong Mei Yee a happy 21st birthday as well. Wishing you to be blessed with luck, joy and health throughout this wonderful year. Stay happy and bright always!!! XD

Birthday girl!

Certified and well-known!
